Red Flag

I am busy busy all week with events, vernissages and tonight I am attending the vernissage at the MBA of a group of contemporary Chinese artworks from Montreal collections. Red Flag, Contemporary Chinese Art in Montreal Collection is the first exhibition by a Quebec museum devoted to the recent explosion of Chinese art, which constitutes one of the most remarkable phenomenons on the global art scene in the past ten years.

Museum will present, from March 3 to June 19, 2011,

POP Montreal T-Shirt Design contest

Hé oui, another t-shirt contest!
I didn’t succeed at the moniker t-shirt contest, but it didn’t discourage me for applying to one more challenge. Pop Montreal is having their first annual t-shirt contest. The task was to design a T-shirt for POP Montreal incorporating at least one version of their logo and using only two colors (the t-shirt is going to be ash gray).
I’ll try to submit a other one this week, yes you still have time to participate; the dead line is March the 4th. You can read all the info here.

Good luck, cause only two winning designs will be unveiled.

Back to the future

I love art, but I’m really more an illustration/painting girl. I studied photography in university, although this medium never touches me that much. That was until I saw these pictures, from the talented Irina Werning;

Negra 1980 and 2010, Buenos Aire
MECHI IN 1990 & 2010, Buenos Aires
Lulu & G in 1980 & 2010, Buenos Air
NICO IN 1990 & 2010, France

Isn`t amazing? I love it!

" When Mars enters Pisces on February 22, to stay until March 31, you will start to enjoy life more. Next month these areas will become even bigger and brighter for you, so by the end of February, when Mars begins to energize this area of your chart ruling travel, study, and information, you will simply be seeing the start of a trend that will grow."

Thank you Susan Miller, this is closely to what I wanted to hear these days.
I’m tired of the cold (the amazing weather of last Friday made me realize how mad I am now with the freezing temperature), I really, really need a new job and all this combined takes away my patience at home…

I like to read horoscopes when I’m having the blues (its better than eating cookies) and Susan Miller is pretty good at raising my hopes about my future. So far, its kind of true what she is predicting for me because my work is paying  me to take¸four two day courses in march and yesterday, I was talking about my summer vacations with my lover...
Now tomorrow looks more exciting, it is not going to be a regular tuesday; I am gonna start a new chapter in my life (hahaha... yeah right !)Well, I let you know how it goes…

Do you also have kitschy believing and/or daily read your horoscope?

Wild Nothing - Confirmation

Wow, I went to see Wild Nothing yesterday night at Sala Rosa and it was so good! Don’t know if it was because it has been a long time since I saw a show (and was really excited about it but at the same time, I got a bit discouraged with my new wardrobe; it’s now a working girl office clothing and it was really different from what I had when I was a fashion designer…) Anyway, the band got me with their peppy beats and ringing overlaid guitars.

I can’t exactly explain it, but sometimes I feel that some of us that were born in the ’80s are passionate for a kind of musical nostalgia of that era. For me, wild nothing is all about the Smiths. They make me revisit memories that never happened to me, cause I never been to a Smiths show and I am not sad in general for that...

But please, don’t wake me; I’m only dreaming.
